Though Gwyneth Paltrow is beautiful, she doesn’t have the same appeal that the Scarlett Johanssons of the acting world do. Her sexiness is more subdued, while her intelligence and grace seem to be the main cause of her appeal. After winning her unexpected Oscar, she was bombarded with choice scripts. She has chosen to strictly pursue roles that help stretch her acting abilities, foregoing the bigger paychecks of formulaic box-office hits. This is apparent considering Paltrow only starred in a handful of widely watched movies since her win, including The Talented Mr. Ripley (1999), Shallow Hal (2001) and The Royal Tenenbaums (2001). However, she gained a bit more exposure after working on the highly anticipated 2008 blockbuster Iron Man.Since the birth of her first child in 2004 and her second in 2006, however, Gwyneth Paltrow has become best-known for being the wife of Coldplay’s frontman, Chris Martin, than for being an actress. Aside from being a tall, blond beauty, Gwyneth Paltrow is known for her starring roles in Proof.
